dome of blue
dome of blue
You know when you see the creases on your hands that you’ll never be the same. Bury some memories in your head and then weep some. Try to create something stronger but it never works for you and you’re left to wipe off the dirt from your palms, cursed never to forget. After all of the masks you’ve peeled off of yourself you end up with a clean slate that we all once were. But then you buried yourself in there for too long, you could no longer be found.
Not even your lover could get through to you and this is all kind of funny. If you hadn’t looked away, it could’ve been helped.
Remember some years ago when you leapt from stone to stone under the washed-out dome of blue with nobody but the ocean to keep you company. Right now you are back in that same moment, only this time the ocean has eyes and hands and the loneliness is killing you.
