red tape
red tape
We live in a world that operates from fear. Territorial barriers, residential permits, visas, security checkpoints, the whole sticky mess of red tape. Which is funny because if you recall far back enough, before economics and politics ever existed, we were born in caves and hid away in caves. We started out with nothing on our hands, yet from the dirt we rose and built buildings to defeat the majesty of mountains from under which we awoke, branding them with our names. Our initial fear was of myth, followed by nature. Now we are afraid of each other. Money, guns, prison cells, all of this makes me sick. If we had not devoured this planet’s resources we would not have felt the need to steal. If we had not let one obnoxious person lead the pack and tell us what to do, we would not have come up with the dirty system we now call politics. But to wish for this is to deny our evolution. Perhaps this is how the human race is supposed to end. Perhaps this kind of ending is inevitable.
